She was a role model for people with health issues: mentor
For friends and family, 23-year-old Bidushi Dash-Barde was a role model for people suffering from health problems.
When she entered the Miss Chennai pageant in 2006, Bidushi was just 17, but it was apparent that she had tremendous potential, said Shobha Ravishanker, an organiser of the Miss Chennai contest.

Ravishanker, who mentored Bidushi, said, “We had to give extra attention to her to ensure that she got all the shots and diabetes medicines on time during the training for the pageant.”
Ravishanker said Bidushi quickly learnt the tricks of the trade.
“She could sing and dance very well. She was very versatile,” she said.
According to Ravishanker, Bidushi had become a role model for people suffering from health problems as they too could then dream of succeeding in their fields.
